Taking the Train to Friends Academy...

The Long Island Railroad offers service from Penn Station in Manhattan to the town of Locust Valley on its Oyster Bay line.  The trip takes just over an hour and requires a transfer at Jamaica Station.   

There are three trains that will get you to Friends Academy during the registration time from 4-5:30 on Thursday, February 2.  Click here for more information about the LIRR schedules.

Leaves Penn Station at 2:36 - Arrives in Locust Valley at 3:50        off peak = $8.25/person

Leaves Penn Station  3:27 - Arrives in Locust Valley at 4:36           off peak = $8.25/person

Leaves Penn Station  4:15 - Arrives in Locust Valley at 5:19           peak = $11.50/person

If you do plan to take the LIRR, please schedule a shuttle from the Locust Valley station to Friends Academy when you register for the conference online.

Returning on the LIRR on Saturday, February 4th

Leaves Locust Valley at 12:30 - Arrives at Penn Station at 1:39        off peak = $8.25/person


Driving to Friends Academy... 

The Friends Academy campus is at 240 Duck Pond Road in Locust Valley, NY 11560.  Here is a Google Map to help you find us. 


Flying to NYC and traveling to Friends Academy...

LaGuardia and JFK airports are equidistant from Friends Academy.  From either airport you can call Oyster Rides for a shuttle: 516-922-2222.  A van that holds up to 6 people costs $75 one way.

If you are flying into JFK, you have the option of taking the Airtran to Jamaica station (or taking a taxi to Jamaica station) and then taking the Long Island Railroad Oyster Bay line from there to Locust Valley.  The Airtran runs every ten minutes, costs $5 one way and takes about ten minutes to get from JFK to Jamaica.
